Blog Slacker

I've decided that I am an official Blog Slacker. So much has happened lately that I haven't posted about, and since we don't have the internet at home anymore I absolutely never upload pictures. Sorry. I'll give you some details of life in little Wyoming!
We just got home from girls camp at 2:15 this morning. Tyler came with me this year as our Priesthood leader (mostly I needed him to come take care of me!) We weren't supposed to be home until Noon or so today, but one of the other leaders got a really bad migraine last night so we offered to pack up early and bring her home. We were headed back this morning to pick up the girls when we got a call saying they had it covered. So, after a few loads of laundry and a 2 hour nap, here I am.
I've just been reading over the requirements for my teacher evaluation portfolio I have to do this year and I'm absolutely overwhelmed. I can't use any of the materials I put together for last year beacuse my baby is coming right in the middle of when that unit most likely will turn up. So I basically have to start from scratch (well I have taught the other units before it's just that the one I prepared is already to go) Crazy timing to have a baby, but hey, the Lord works in mysterious ways right?
Speaking of the baby, I didn't even post that we're having a BOY!! We found out in June and even though ultra sounds aren't 100% accurate all the time. this baby is 99% boy. We moved up stairs into a different appartment that will hopefully be warmer this winter and started setting up the babies room. It's pretty exciting to have the little dresser and crib waiting for our new arrival. I'm so caught up in that fact that a baby is coming to our house that I easily get overwhelmed with that fact that regular life events will continue. I don't know why, I guess it's just the hormones!
Oh yes, we moved up stairs because rather than a house we decided to buy a lot. We got a steal of a deal on a nice 1/4 acre lot up on Red Mountain two blocks behind our appartment. We're planning to break ground sometime in April or May and build a house all summer. WHOA. Are we crazy or what?!!
NYC was a fun, hot trip. We just happened to pick the week of record highs for our vacation, but hey, other than a little heat rash we weathered pretty good! The Statue of Liberty was magnificent. WICKED was fantastic!! Sorry, but I'll have to save trip details for a later post.
So there's a quick update of summer life at the Jessup's!
Keep Cool!

New York

Well, we're flying to NYC on Sunday. Tyler has a reading conference there so my Mom and I are going to see the city while he's in class. I hope we don't get mugged! Some days I'm really looking forward to the trip, other days I worry that something terrible might happen -- you know, like in those crazy thrill movies where the bad guys have been planning the ambuse for months. Well, I'm sure we don't have anything that anyone else wants so we should be pretty safe right!? We're looking forward to the 4th of July with my family this weekend too - on the 3rd this year before we fly out!!

The Last Day of School!!

We finally made it!! I just wish the sun would realize its summer time and show it's smiling face :)

Today I got a note from a student that made me realize yet again the reason why I teach school! She said," Thanks you so much for all ou have done for me this year.... I always felt welcome and ready to learn in your class when you were there. You had a smile and were always really nice." she goes on about how much she appreciated me and my class. What a sweet heart! I love teaching! Especially this time of year.

Have a great summer!!

May

So the big new in the Jessup family is that Tyler was just called as the second counselor in our Bishopric. Wild, I know! I still can't believe he's up on the stand Sunday's and gone late on Tuesday nights. He's doing such a good job already! We have tried to buy six different houses in the last year and finally gave up. We decided we needed to go see our bishop and ask what in the world we needed to do in this ward so we could get it done and move out. I guess the Lord had different plans for us! So as for now we're waiting for the people upstairs to finish their house so we can move into their appartment. We think that the upstairs appartment will be much warmer especially with this baby on the way! Since it is winter about 9 months out of the year here - early spring for 1.5 and late fall for 1.5 we fingure we need a warmer apartment! Hopefully we can keep saving and in 6 months to a year from now find an even better house (possibly within our ward boundaries) and then be out of apartments forever. Then again, the Lord possibly has other plans!

We get to find out what we're having on June 18th -- that is if HE or SHE cooperates!!

Tripping

What have we been doing all winter?? Driving and Driving -- back and forth from Evanston to Utah and back. Three weekends ago we went to Provo and Tyler's brother took us flying! What a trip. He rented a little four seater plane and we all got to take a turn in the air. Last weekend we came down to Kaysville - my uncle passed away and his funeral was last Friday. It was a bitter sweet weekend becuase we came for the funeral, but we did get to see all of my family! We also went dress shopping which was unfortunately unsuccessful. Then Mom and Dad and Katie came to Evanston for the long weekend. This weekend we're back again. This time for a play. We went and saw Fiddler on the Roof at Hale Center Theatre in West Cally. It was fantastic! We've also been taking mid week trips to Ogden to go to the temple ever week. Our car insurance bill came the other day and was a lot higher than we were expecting. Apparently we've driven many more miles than we originally reported!

Spring is on its way I hope. May be in two months
